Terms of Use — Morgan 7th Ward
Who we are
These Terms of Use describe the rules for using Morgan 7th Ward event and activity communications channels in Morgan, Utah. That includes this website, Instagram @morgan7thward, X @morgan7thward, TikTok @morgan7thward, Facebook (URL TBD), our Google Form / Google Sheet event intake, and SMS alerts via Mailchimp SMS (opt-in only; text JOIN to +1 (385) 249-5415).
Day-to-day posting is managed by ward communications admins (currently Kelly as primary poster, plus a backup). Social and related accounts are under Justin Rees (jurees@gmail.com), who operates these communications tools for the ward.
We are a local ward communications effort, not The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a whole. Official Church terms and policies are separate.
By submitting the event form, following or messaging our social accounts, opting into SMS, or otherwise using these channels, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Purpose of these channels
These channels exist to share ward event and activity information, reminders, and similar community notices for Morgan 7th Ward members and friends. They are not a commercial storefront and are not official Church headquarters channels.
Event submissions
- Provide accurate information and only content you have the right to share.
- Do not submit confidential counseling matters, temple recommend details, financial account numbers, passwords, or other highly sensitive personal data through the form.
- Photo and video uploads are optional and should be suitable for public ward promotion. Do not upload images of minors without appropriate parent/guardian permission for public posting.
- Admins may edit, schedule, delay, decline, or remove submissions for accuracy, clarity, safety, or fit with ward communications practices.
- Submitting an item does not guarantee it will be posted on every channel or on any particular timeline.
Social media conduct
- Be respectful. Harassment, hate speech, threats, spam, scams, sexually explicit content, and illegal content are not allowed.
- Do not post others’ private information without permission.
- We may hide, delete, or restrict comments or messages that violate these Terms, and we may block accounts that repeatedly violate them.
- Platform rules (Meta, X, TikTok) also apply.
SMS (Mailchimp)
- Messages are for people who opt in by texting JOIN to +1 (385) 249-5415 or by submitting the public web form at /sms/ with an unchecked-by-default consent checkbox. We do not blast the full ward directory.
- Program: informational ward event reminders, activity schedule updates, and related announcements from Morgan 7th Ward / Justin Rees (Mailchimp SMS program “Morgan Seven”).
- Message frequency varies (typically a few messages per month; more only around major events or urgent schedule changes). Message and data rates may apply.
- Consent is not a condition of any purchase or church membership.
- Text STOP to opt out; text HELP for help.
- Delivery is not guaranteed (carrier and device limits apply).
Intellectual property and content license
- You keep ownership of content you submit.
- By submitting text, photos, or videos for posting, you grant Morgan 7th Ward communications admins a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, edit, reproduce, and distribute that content on our ward social channels and related ops tools for announcing and coordinating the activity.
- Church trademarks and logos belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; use them only in ways consistent with Church guidelines.
- Do not submit content you do not have rights to.
No professional or ecclesiastical advice
Posts and messages on these channels are for general ward event communication. They are not legal, medical, financial, or formal ecclesiastical counsel.
Disclaimers
These channels are provided as a volunteer communications convenience. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of uninterrupted access, error-free posting, or perfect delivery across platforms. Event details can change; verify important information with the event organizers or ward leaders when needed.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Morgan 7th Ward communications admins and account owners are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of these channels, reliance on a post or text, or inability to access a platform. Platform outages and third-party tools (Google, Meta, X, TikTok, Mailchimp) are outside our control.
Privacy
How we collect and use personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. That policy is incorporated by reference into these Terms.
Changes
We may update these Terms when our tools or practices change. The Effective date at the top will change when we publish a material update. Continued use of the form, follows, or SMS opt-in after an update means the updated Terms apply going forward.
