Privacy Policy — Morgan 7th Ward
Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how Morgan 7th Ward (a congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Morgan, Utah) collects, uses, and shares information for ward event and activity communications.
Day-to-day posting is managed by ward communications admins (currently Kelly as primary poster, plus a backup). Social and related accounts are under Justin Rees (jurees@gmail.com), who operates these communications tools for the ward.
This policy applies to:
- This website (home, terms, privacy, and SMS opt-in pages)
- Instagram: @morgan7thward
- X (Twitter): @morgan7thward
- TikTok: @morgan7thward
- Facebook Page (URL TBD) and related Meta presence
- Our Google Form / Google Sheet event intake
- SMS alerts via Mailchimp SMS (opt-in only): text JOIN to +1 (385) 249-5415 (program name “Morgan Seven” / Morgan 7th Ward)
We are a local ward communications effort, not The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a whole. Official Church privacy practices are separate.
What we collect
1) Event submission form and sheet
Leaders and members may submit event or announcement details through our Google Form. Responses are stored in a linked Google Sheet used for coordination and posting. Typical fields include submitter name and calling, event title/type/dates/times/location, audience, description, CTA, optional links and photos/videos, publish priority (including whether an item is SMS-worthy), and ops coordination fields.
Form: Event intake form
2) Social platforms
When you interact with our Instagram, X, TikTok, or Facebook accounts, those platforms collect and process information under their own privacy policies. We may see messages you send and public engagement on our posts.
3) SMS opt-in (Mailchimp)
- We collect phone numbers only from people who opt in (texting JOIN to +1 (385) 249-5415, or submitting the public web form on /sms/ with an unchecked-by-default consent checkbox).
- We do not blast the full ward directory or message anyone who has not opted in.
- Standard message and data rates may apply (your carrier).
- Reply STOP to opt out; reply HELP for help.
4) What we do not try to collect
We do not ask for Social Security numbers, payment card data, or passwords through the event form. Optional photo/video uploads are for event promotion; please do not upload sensitive personal documents.
How we use information
- Review, approve, schedule, and publish ward event / activity posts and reminders
- Coordinate among ward communications admins
- Send SMS alerts for ward events, activity reminders, and schedule updates to people who opted in (Mailchimp SMS)
- Maintain a simple calendar / ops workflow so announcements stay accurate
- Respond to messages or privacy requests
We do not sell personal information. We do not use ward intake data for commercial advertising networks unrelated to ward communications.
Who can access it
- Kelly (primary poster) and designated backup admin(s)
- Justin Rees / account owners for shared logins and technical setup (jurees@gmail.com)
- Other ward leaders only as needed for a specific event
Third parties
| Service | Role |

Retention
- Event form/sheet rows are kept as long as useful for ward coordination, then deleted or archived when no longer needed.
- Social posts remain on the platforms until we or the platform remove them.
- SMS opt-in numbers are kept while you remain subscribed; we remove or suppress numbers after STOP or a deletion request, subject to short-term logs needed for compliance or troubleshooting.
Children and minors
Ward activities often involve youth and Primary-age children. We ask submitters and posters to avoid posting identifiable photos of minors on public social channels without appropriate parent/guardian permission, prefer general event details over sensitive personal information about minors, and use private channels for anything that should stay within families or leaders.

No sale of data
